On April 15, 1999, Mark Cuban announced that the Charlottesville Wrestling Federation would be divided in two. Curt Hennig would run a show to air on Monday nights, and Roddy Piper would run a show to air on Thursday nights. The entire CWF roster would be split up in a two-night, 32-round draft. All personnel in both the CWF and Smoky Mountain, the developmental league, would be available. By the time the final name had been called, the CWF had entered a new era... and would never be the same.
